2 Years!

*WARNING* this is a long post, so if you don't want to read it all...or you get bored feel free to move along to a more interesting blog.

Today is our 2 year anniversary! 2 years ago today I was getting ready for my wedding...I couldn't believe it, it seems like it all happened so fast. We had been dating for about 8 months, but the engagement had only lasted 2 1/2 months! It might have been a longer engagement if my little brother wasn't going on a mission in June, but I wanted him there. It all turned out so great, and planning a wedding in 2 months can be done! My mom did a lot of the work, and Holly was such a big help. She helped me to find my dress, and pick my colors (I wasn't one of those girls who had their dream wedding imagined since the age of 10), took ALL the pictures, helped find my bridesmaids dresses, helped throw my bridal shower ect. She was great!

I'll start at the beginning, well maybe not the beginning, but the night that Josh proposed. Josh had been working all day, and I had been to lunch and shopping with Holly. Well I got a call from Josh at about 5:00 p.m. asking if I wanted to go to dinner...I said "Yes" and then he told me to come over at 6:30. I thought it was weird that he would give me a specific time to come over, and I also thought it was weird that there was a lot of rustling going on in the background. When I asked what all the noise was he said "You would crack up if you knew what I was doing right now". I hung up the phone and told Holly that Josh was acting really weird, and she said, "Maybe he is planning on proposing tonight!". So 6:30 rolls around and I pull up to Josh's place. I walk in and he's just sitting there putting his shoes on, but acting a little nervous. As I was standing there waiting to go to dinner (I was starving) Josh told me that he got me a present. I asked him what it was and he said it was a puppy! I had wanted a puppy of my own after I had met his dog and LOVED him. So when josh went to the back room I was expecting a puppy to come tearing around the corner, but he came out of the room with a tiny gift bag. I opened it and there was a little stuffed puppy. I thought it was cute and told him thanks, but he told me to look closer. As I did I noticed and beautiful diamond ring tied around the puppys neck. I got wide eyed, looked at Josh and then started jumping up and down and hugging him. When I calmed down he said "so is that a yes?" and I nodded my head. He untied the ring and looked at me and said "Will you be my wife?" I said "yes!" and he put the ring on my finger (it was a little big but thats ok).

After we hugged and kissed and did all that mushy stuff we went to Jonny Carinos in a blizzard! While we were eating the power went out for a few minutes. After dinner we called a few people and went to show off my ring. The next day was sunday and we drove up to Rexburg to have dinner with my family. They had no idea (I told Josh that he wasn't allowed to ask my dad's or any of my brothers permission), so I decided to just wear the ring and see how long it took them to notice. Dustin noticed right away, and when my mom left the room he asked if it was real...we said yes and told him to keep quiet. Well we all sat down to dinner and still no one else had noticed, so finally I said "well since no one has said anything..." and I stuck my hand out. My mom jumped up and ran around the whole house while my dad and brothers just sat and stared. Everyone was excited and we couldn't wait to start planning the wedding, which started that evening. The next day I took Josh his lunch at work and he said..."How does June 3rd sound?". I was impressed, but after checking with a few people it sounded like May 20th was going to work better. So the date was set.

After that everything just kinda fell into place. I didn't have one of those terrible engagements where we fight...or the dress is wrong...or the pictures don't work..or bla bla bla. It was great! The first dress I tried on I LOVED...the cake was beautiful....and my man was soo great helping where I asked and letting me have my way on most things. He even let me dress him how I wanted for pictures and changed into like 3 different outfits (and if you know Josh, thats a big deal)!

So the day of the wedding came and it was perfect. The decorations were beautiful, everyone made it, my dress still fit, Josh looked GREAT in his tux, and I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world when I was walking up the isle towards Josh and he saw me in my dress for the first time. I don't remember what the bishop said...and I don't remember exactly who was there, but I do remember the feeling when we kissed for the first time as husband and wife...I will never forget it. I know I sound sappy, but it's true. I love my husband with everything I have, and even after 2 years, through the ups and downs, I can't believe how lucky I am. I love you hunny! Happy Anniversary!

I LOVE THIS!! I totally remember the night he proposed and our conversation about it! I love how you still remember the cute and fun details of your wedding. Go back through your sign in book and see what people had to say. It's pretty interesting to read what people wrote! Congrats on 2 years and many more to come!
