must read

ok....so i just finished the first two books in the "hunger games" series
...and they were FANTASTIC! i can't wait for the next book to come out (not till august). this is a must read series. it's action packed (not cheesy action) with some romance (but not so much that a guy wouldn't like it...in fact i think most guys would really like them) and a touch of fantasy/ sci fi. they are easy reads and rumor has it that a movie based on the books will be in production soon. seriously...read these books and let me know what you think!

reviews

so i was going through a lot of my older blog posts, and i realized that i used to report on any movies and/or TV shows that i saw...i also realized that i haven't done this in a while, so i'm going to give you my opinion on a few things.1- greys anatomy: i used to be a fan of the show, but this season doesn't seem to have the same greatness that the others have had. maybe it's because george bit the dust (he was my fave), or because izzie has been MIA (what's the deal there?), maybe now that mcdreamy and merideth are married the frusterating drama is gone...whatever it is the show just isn't holding my attention like it used to, but i still have to watch because i've followed it this long and i have to know how things end up.

2- dear john: it was a super cute movie (not as good as the notebook...but what is?). now when i say cute i mean it's not a show that your hubbys or boyfriends would enjoy even a tiny bit (josh would have sat next to me and died if he had to sit through it) it's a great show to go and see with the girls though! it's got a cute story, some tear jerker moments (i didn't cry tho...which i'm quite suprised about), a few good laughs, and a little bit of eye candy. what more does a movie need?
3-new moon: ok...i know i don't need to say anything about new moon because you have all seen it and it was FANTASTIC! i liked it better than twilight. the acting was great, i felt like it folllowed the book pretty well, there was some good comedy, some heartache (how sad is it when he leaves her in the woods?), more than your fill of shirtless warewolves, and i loved the special effects. can't wait till this one comes out on DVD (march 20th ladies!).
4- the host: i had a hard time getting into the story, but now that i've pushed through the first little bit of it i'm really enjoying the story, and find myself wondering what's going to happen next. if you have started reading the host and then just couldn't get into it....try again...push through the first 80 or so pages and you won't be sorry.

5- dark tower series: i know that stephen king has a reputation of writing mostly scary books, but this series is fantastic. it's weird, and confusing, and yes sometimes it's a little scary. but the story is amazing and the characters are so great. i so wish that these 7 (yes 7!) books would be made into movies. oh and if you are at all familiar with other stephen king books you will be amazed at how this series and all of his other books weave together....amazing!
6- private practice: still love this show!

7- bones: love love love bones! the first few seasons were the best, but this new one is good. if you haven't seen bones netflix it!

8-24: new york is about to get jacked! we are hooked on 24 (i can't say that i love freddie pince jr. character yet tho). so far this season has been ok..but i hear that it gets GREAT later in the season, so we are hanging in there...we love that jack is back!

Twilight Gets a B

That's just my opinion. I know some of you haven't seen it yet so I'll try not to give anything away (but just in case you might wanna wait to read this until after you see the movie).
I'm not the person who gets upset because the movie didn't follow the book exactly...it's only BASED on the book...I get that. I was willing to look past the fact that the Cullens house didn't look anything like the book described....and that the meadow scene wasn't accurate at all....that kind of stuff is all fine by me, but the thing that bothered me the most was that the rest of the Cullen family wasn't in the movie hardly at all!You see them...and you know that they are there but you don't see any of them reacting with each other much. If you hadn't read the book you wouldn't know that the family was close at all...you would just assume that they just live in the same house. The other thing that bothered me is that I didn't feel like the movie flowed at all. It felt like there was big event after big event but nothing in between to connect them all together. All of the fun in between stuff isn't there (like finding out that Emmet's favorite food is grizzly, or that Alice is HUGE into fashion, or why Rosalie is a HUGE bitch), and you don't find out how any of them became what they are!

There were a lot of good parts to the movie tho...I felt that the music fit in great with the movie, and every scene with James was really cool. The filming was done nicely I thought, and the baseball scene was super fun to see.I felt that most of the casting was great (Emmet was great), and there was a lot of fun comic relief. All in all I thought it was pretty good...and I think I'll see it again, knowing what I know this time around I think will make it better. Did anyone else see it? What did you think?
And I know that this has nothing to do with Twilight but here is a picture of me with little Mya punkin at the hospital...isn't she the sweetest?

Are We Excited?!

So I just watched the new offical trailer for TWILIGHT! It's gonna be so good and I'm so excited! Aren't you?

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high becuase the books are ALWAYS better than the movie...but I almost can't help it. The cast they have chosen is amazing ( I think Emmet is a hottie), the music gives me chills, and the photos I have seen look soo great! I just can't help but be excited. I'll be at the movie opening night, and I'm sure I'll see a few of you there.

Everything Happens For A Reason

Ok...so I'm going through a few tough things in my life right now (nothing compared to what others may be going through)...and I could make this post all about how trials are put in front of us for a reason bla bla bla...don't get me wrong, I do believe that everything happens for a reason, but I'm not ready to talk about my "problems" just yet...so I'm going to make this post about this:

"Now for the good news! Though we're all sad to have to wait for Harry Potter, this open spot at the theater creates a cool opportunity. The good people at Summit were thrilled to let me know that now Twilight fans are going to get their movie three weeks earlier than scheduled. That's right—Twilight will be released in theaters November 21st! Let the merry-making commence!" -Stephenie Meyer
I do know that it's pathetic to make 2 posts dedicated to the release of new movies, but I'm SUPER excited for twilight, and now I'm not near as upset about the Harry Potter thing (everything happens for a reason).

I got this Info off of Stephenie Meyers web page, and if any of you haven't been there yet you NEED to go check it out http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/. Spend some time just looking around...she has some fun things, and I would suggest reading the first chapter of Midnight Sun (under Twilight Series)...super cool!

Harry Potter Fans?

I'm not ashamed to say it...I'm a Harry Potter Fan. I got into the books when my little brother was in middle school and he brought the first book home to read, and I read it instead. I read all of the book pretty quickly, and I've seen (and own) all of the movies. I was getting super excited for the newest Harry Potter movie (The Half Blood Prince) to come into theaters in November, so you can imagine my dissapointment when I heard that they have postponed the movie until JULY 2009! This is the reasoning:
"Like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films-changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of," he said. "We agreed the best strategy was to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer." -Alan Horn-

At least we still have Twilight coming out in December, as long as that doesn't get pushed back I think I'll be ok.

I Just Finished!

I just finished Breaking Dawn and I LOVED it! What did you all think? I think it was my favorite out of the series...I won't say why becuase I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't finished it yet. I have to say that I loved the whole series...and I'm sad that it's over. That's all I'm gonna say for now..just let me know what you thought!

Breaking Dawn

So here's my story about the book. I pre ordered mine in February right after I finished Eclipse, thinking that usually pre orderes get delivered the day of the release if not a day sooner...well mine never came! I got online and it said that they wouldn't have it to me until the 5th! I thought that was crap...so Saturday night after the Fife family reunion Josh took me to hastings and told me that I could get the book and we would just return the one from amazon....I was soooo excited. We got home and I read till 2am. I didn't have a lot of time to read yesterday but I have made it to page 258....and can I just say wow! I won't write more than that because some might not have started the book yet. But I do have to say that some people from my work finished it in one day! So I guess I need to get a move on and finish. I'll write more about it when I get further in. Has anyone else started..or even finished the book? What did you all think?
